Log the minutes you read each day at apl.readsquared.com to earn digital Badges.


Adults: you can log time spent reading with children in your Adult program as well as in their Kids' program. With linked accounts, you can log everyone all at once.


Optional: unlock Games, complete Reading Lists, enter Secret Codes from events, and complete Missions for more Points & Badges.

At least 120 minutes of reading logged in a week automatically enters you in that week's prize drawing. Winners will be notified the following Monday afternoon via email and when they login to APL's READsquared site.


Please note: all Teens who log 2 hours of reading in a week will win in the drawing that takes place the Monday morning following. Once you are notified you've won, come in for your prize(s) and get your Grand Prize Drawing slip, too.

Kids -- complete Missions to automatically be entered in the larger prize drawings.
Teens -- get a Grand Prize Drawing slip when you pick up each of your earned weekly participation prizes.
Adults -- log at least 2 hours of reading in the program to automatically be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing.


Paper Program
Birth to 24 months


Mark off time spent talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Get your log to print after registering online.


When you have colored in all the images on your log, bring it to Children's Services to receive a free book and one Grand Prize drawing ticket.


Paper Program
Birth to 7th


Track your reading, creating, and exploring each week to earn stamps in your log.

Ask for your paper log in Children's Services after you register

Log at least 5 days of reading in a week to earn a participation prize in Children's Services.

Collect 7 or more Read stamps in 9 weeks and earn a free book and Builder stamp.


Paper Program
6th to HS grad (this year)


Log at least 2 hours of reading each week to win a weekly participation prize and Grand Prize drawing slip.

Ask for your paper Read & Create log at the Information Desk after you register.

Weekly participation prizes may be picked up once you've logged your reading for the week.

Get your Grand Prize Drawing slips when you pick up your weekly prizes.

Submit a Creation to earn one additional Grand Prize drawing slip each week. Creations must be turned in to earn the drawing slip; photos and drawings must include a written description of what it is and its meaning to you.


Paper Program
18 years +


At the Information Desk, fill out a drawing slip with your name and the title of the book you finished reading that week (you must have started reading it no sooner than June 12, 2017); place it in the Adult SLP weekly prize drawing box. You may also use a drawing slip to log a community event you participated in for a chance to win.

Every Monday morning, the previous week's drawing slips will be used for the drawing. Winners will be notified via email or phone.

All participants who have submitted at least 1 title in a weekly drawing are automatically entered in the Grand Prize drawing.
