Donations of Books, DVDs, Music & Audiobook CDs

The Appleton Public Library and the Friends of Appleton Public Library accept gifts of new or gently-used books, DVDs and music or books on CD.

Simply bring your donations to a library service desk at any time. We do not assign a value to the donated items, but you will receive a receipt indicating that we have received the materials and you can place a value on your donation. We do not return items that are given to us.

Decisions on whether and how donated items will be added to our collection are made by staff members on the same criteria applied to purchased materials.

Items that are not added to the collection become part of the Friends of Appleton Public Library semi-annual used book sales, which generate funds for library programs and special projects.

NOTE: There are some items the Friends are not able to use in any way: books with water damage or moldy smells, magazines and newspapers, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, VHS videos, cassette tapes, encyclopedias, science or technical textbooks.
