Library Cards

Library App

Compatible with iOS and Android devices. Use the app to search the InfoSoup Library Catalog, connect to download and streaming services, store your entire family's library cards to make holds pickup a snap, and more. Find our app at or search for it in the app store as APL2Go.

Computers, Wifi, Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Computers are located throughout the library. A library card is required to log on. Visitors may request a guest pass at any service desk. 

Free WiFi is available throughout the building (aplpublic).

We have a printer/copier on the main level (east of the Information Desk) and upper level of the library (south of the Reference Desk). The cost is $.15 per side for black and white and $.35 per side for color printing. Wireless printing is also available for devices on a Windows or Mac environment.

A computer with a feeder scanner is located on the second floor.


The library has equipment to checkout for use inside and outside the library.


The fax machine is located on the main level of the library next to the printer/copier, east of the Information Desk.

Meeting Rooms & Study Rooms

Rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and are available for the community for presentation of informational, educational, or recreational material in keeping with our mission. See our Meeting Room and Study Room Use Policy for more details.

     STUDY ROOMS are for one to ten people and are located on the upper level. Rooms may be booked for a single session, up to 2 hours per day, with an option to extend time if no one else has requested the room once your time has expired. Rooms are not sound-proof. Call 920-832-6173 to reserve a Study Room. (APL does not offer proctoring services.)

     MEETING ROOMS are in the lower level, are intended for public meetings, and must be booked at least one week in advance and up to six months in advance. Rooms are not sound-proof. The two microfilm reader-scanners are located on the 2nd floor of the library along the north wall behind the Reference desk.

Notary Public

Several library staff members are notaries. Please call ahead to ask whether a notary public happens to be working: 920-832-6179. Notary Publics at the Library serve only as signature witnesses (with appropriate ID); they cannot notarize official documents (view a list of the most common types of notarizations to understand what we can and cannot notarize).

The City Clerk’s office, located on the 6th floor of City Hall across the street from the library, also provides notary service free of charge during regular City Hall business hours (8am - 4:30pm).

Seed Library

The Appleton Seed Library is located on the main level of the library, east of the Information Desk. This is a walk-up, self-service station.

Tax Forms

The IRS and WI Dept of Revenue sends select tax forms to APL. Tax forms and instructions can be found on the main level typically from the last week of January through tax filing day in April.

Walking Books

A materials delivery service is provided by volunteers to homebound patrons. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 832-6346 to arrange for this service or to volunteer to deliver library materials.

Hearing Loop

Our lower level meeting rooms are equipped with a hearing loop. The hearing loop installation was funded by the Federal Library Services and Technology Act, awarded to the DPI by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services with additional funding provided by the Outagamie Waupaca Library System.
